Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 (View here)
“the dutyholder shall ensure that a suitable and sufficient assessment is carried out as to whether asbestos is or is liable to be present in the premises.”
The Survey Report
- An understandable, comprehensive and informative pictorial document detailing where any Asbestos materials are located, what type of product they are in, its condition and any recommendations regarding its management.
- All our Surveyors hold the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) P402 (Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos) certificate as a minimum.
- All surveys are carried out in accordance with Current Legislation and strictly to the Health and Safety Executive’s MDHS100 Regulations.
- All samples taken by our surveyors are analysed by UKAS accredited laboratories.
Types of Survey
- Type 1 – Presumptive. This is to locate materials assumed to contain asbestos and note what condition they are in. No sampling is done.
- Type 2 – Sampling. This is the same as Type 1 but samples are taken and analysed to confirm whether asbestos is present. This survey is recommended for those wishing to identify and manage Asbestos correctly in their property.
- Type 3 – Full Access (Intrusive). This involves getting full access to all parts of the building, using destructive inspection if necessary. This type is usually used just before demolition or major
refurbishment.
